Welcome to Food Bank of Siouxland'sVirtual BackPack Drive.
The Food Bank of Siouxland provides food to the needy in 11 Siouxland counties – 8 in Iowa and 3 in Nebraska. In FY 2016, 2.1 million pounds of food were distributed to help make sure no one in our community goes to bed hungry!
BackPack programs are a take-home food program for elementary school students in need. The purpose of the program is to provide a weekly sack of
shelf-stable food to get these students through the weekend when school meals are not available to provide nourishment. Our sacks contain two cereal
pouches, two lunch or dinner meals, a fruit cup, fruit juice, and milk. They are handed out at the participating schools on the last day of the school week.
One in five kids in the Siouxland area are at-risk for hunger. But together, we can help.
