Welcome to Food Bank for the Heartland'sVirtual Food Drive.
The Scouting for Food Drive is one of the most critical food drives for the Food Bank for the Heartland. As food insecurity rises among our communities' families, the 2016 ConAgra Foods' Scouting for Food Drive aims to collect more than 500,000 items of food - this will provide over 300,000 meals to those who need them. Scouts participate in Scouting for Food to fulfill their oath to "help other people at all times." Scouting promotes community involvement and emphasizes youth helping other youth. The Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council is the largest youth-serving agency in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.
Food Bank for the Heartland serves 93 counties in Nebraska and western Iowa. Approximately 220,000 people in the Food Bank's service
area are considered food insecure meaning they may not know where their next meal is coming from. For every $1 received through the
virtual food drive, the Food Bank will be able to provide three meals.
